Simple Clock
This clock was designed around a simple idea.
Waking up should engage the mind, not startle it.

Rather than relying on sound alone, the clock asks for a small physical action. To silence the alarm, the user places a finger through the circular opening while the clock remains seated on its base. The gesture is deliberate and calm, requiring coordination and attention.

This moment matters. Research shows that combining light physical movement with focused attention increases cortical arousal and reduces sleep inertia more effectively than sound alone. By engaging the motor cortex and attention systems together, the brain transitions more quickly into an alert state.

The design makes this effort feel natural. The opening guides the finger without instruction. The base provides stability and calm. Nothing is decorative. Every detail supports that single moment of wakefulness.

The clock does not interrupt sleep. It invites awareness.

"Waking up becomes an act of intention, shaped quietly through design."
